A late Alexandre Lacazette equaliser gave Arsenal a share of the spoils at the Emirates on Saturday, after the Gunners played out an enthralling 1-1 drew with Liverpool.

A re-energised Arsenal impressed in the first-half, although Liverpool should have taken the lead through Sadio ManĂ©, only for the Senegalese attacker to be wrongly flagged for offside after Roberto Firmino’s effort had come back off the crossbar.

Virgin van Dijk also hit the frame of the goal for the Reds in an entertaining contest.

At the other end of the pitch, Henrikh Mkhitaryan almost put the hosts 1-0 up, with the Armenian’s header drifting just wide.

The opening goal of the game would come on the hour-mark, via James Milner, who blasted home after Bernd Leno had palmed away a cross from Mané.

Unai Emery sent on Alex Iwobi on 68 minutes, and the Nigerian international eventually set up Arsenal’s equaliser, with Lacazette turning past a stranded Alisson before producing a fine finish.

The game would end all-square, which was probably a fair result.

Liverpool go a point clear of Manchester City, who play tomorrow, at the top of the table.

As for Arsenal, they extend their unbeaten run to 13 games in all competitions, with Emery’s new-look side looking far more robust than last season’s outfit.
