There were emotional scenes at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Leicester City lined up for their first match since the tragic, untimely death of their chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Having treated travelling fans to a complimentary breakfast, the Foxes paid tribute to ‘The Boss’ before kick-off with a solemn minute’s silence as several Thai flags were left to ripple silently in the away section.

Leicester fans were also given commemorative t-shirts, many of which could be seen dotted around the stadium.

Chants of “Champions of England, you made us sing that,” were also sung with gusto as supporters heralded the man that delivered unto them the most unlikely of Premier League titles.

Writing in the match programme, Cardiff owner Vincent Tan mourned Srivaddhanaprabha’s passing, saying that the “world of football has lost a true pioneer and visionary”.
