Nigeria U20 women hit Rennes for China battle

The Falconets arrived in the Brittany city on Friday ahead of Monday's crucial clash with the Asian giants

Nigeria U20 women side arrived in Rennes, France on Friday afternoon ahead of their 2018 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup last Group D clash with China on Monday.

The Falconets secured three points from their two games after Thursday’s 1-0  win over Haiti in Saint Malo to move to the second position and thus, a goal difference their third-placed opponents.

Christopher Danjuma’s ladies will be seeking to reach the quarter-final of the ninth edition of the women youth championship but must avoid a slip against the Asians, with the same three points.

They arrived in Rennes - an hour drive from Dinan-Lehon Stadium, venue of the tie at 12 pm local time [1 pm in Nigeria] and were lodged at the Mercure Rennes Gare Hotel, Rennes.

The team will continue their preparations for the important contest against the Chinese, with the first training session at the training ground of the Stade Ernest Lohyac on Friday evening.

After Ghana’s exit, the African giants will be hoping to keep the dreams of winning their Africa’s first ever Women’s World Cup title alive as they battle Peter Bonde’s side.
